A Trendsetting Workshop for Educators
MES Bal Shikshan Mandir EMS, Mayur Colony, proudly hosted a transformative two-day workshop on the implementation of NEP 2020 for educators. The event, held on 16th April for Pre-primary and Primary teachers, and 17th April 2025 for Secondary teachers, brought together approximately 200 dedicated educators and 45 enthusiastic HMs from various English and Marathi medium SSC Board schools.
Under the visionary leadership of School Committee Chairman Mr. Vijay Bhalerao and the esteemed Visitor Dr. Neha Deshpande, the workshop provided an enriching learning experience, fostering innovation among educators. The sessions were guided by a team of eminent educationists, with Dr. A.L. Deshmukh spearheading the initiative.
This much-anticipated workshop received wide appreciation from HMs and teachers representing other schools, who acknowledged MES BSM EMS's tireless efforts in organizing such an impactful and much-needed event.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, MES BSM EMS was honoured to host Mrs. Ananditai Patil and Dr. Dilip Sheth as the esteemed Chief Guests on 16th and 17th April, respectively. Their presence inspired the participants.
Moreover, the talents of BSM's dedicated faculty shone brightly during the workshop, as they prepared engaging presentations on key topics and designed innovative activities that captivated the participants.

Tasty treat to the taste buds of BSMians - Annual Lunch 2025.
25th March 2025 : The Academic Year is reaching it's end. Students are gearing up for their Term II examination.
The school grabbed a very situation to give it's students a yummy delectable treat. Annual Lunch was arranged for students between 06 th March to 20th March. From youngest ones to the eldest , everyone enjoyed the food. The school knows that good food and great friends make a perfect recipe. Students enjoyed different menus selected for students belonging to different age groups.
Annual lunch with colorful and cool menus was like an icing on the cake for students.
⚛️ Science Fair at BSM ⚛️
MES Bal Shikshan Mandir EMS celebrated Science Day on 4th March 2025 to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect and to encourage the development of a scientific mindset among the students. The day was filled with spectacular experiments and their elaborative explanation by the young scientists. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, an E grade scientist from Agharkar Research Institute Dr. Ravindra Patil, who launched a student-made rocket.
Students from Std. V to Std. IX showcased various projects on topics such as agriculture, disaster management, health, space, and education. The IUCAA lecture series was presented by the students of Std. VIII and Std. IX, while musical instruments made by students highlighted the science behind them. The exhibition received much appreciation from the chief and and a warm response from students and parents.
अभिजात मराठी भाषा गौरव दिन 🚩
२५ फेब्रुवारी २०२५ : दरवर्षी प्रशालेत मराठी राजभाषा गौरव दिन साजरा केला जातो.यंदा मराठी भाषेला अभिजात मराठी भाषेचा दर्जा मिळाल्याने विशेष उत्साहात मराठी दिवस साजरा झाला.गेली दहा वर्ष शाळेमध्ये आंतरशालेय मराठी भाषाधारित स्पर्धांचे आयोजन केले जाते.यंदा शाळेत शालांतर्गत विद्यार्थी प्रश्नमंजुषा स्पर्धा घेण्यात आली त्याचबरोबर विद्यार्थ्यांच्या आंतरशालेय लेखन स्पर्धा व शिक्षिका प्रश्नमंजुषा स्पर्धा घेण्यात आल्या.
प्रश्नमंजुषा स्पर्धा ही मराठी साहित्यावर,व्याकरणावर व मराठी संस्कृतीवर आधारित होती.विद्यार्थ्यांचे भाषेवरील प्रेम,वाचन आणि उत्साह वाखाणण्याजोगा होता.
त्याचबरोबर आंतरशालेय लेखन स्पर्धांमध्ये अभंग निरूपण लेखन,काव्यलेखन,निबंधलेखन, संवादलेखन,कथालेखन अशा पाच स्पर्धा दोन गटांमध्ये घेण्यात आल्या.पुण्यातील एकूण ७६ विद्यार्थ्यांनी या स्पर्धेत सहभाग नोंदवला होता.
आज आंतरशालेय शिक्षिका प्रश्नमंजुषा स्पर्धा आयोजित केली होती.यामधून शाळेतील पूर्व प्राथमिक विभागाचा संघ विजयी झाला तर शाळेतील माध्यमिक विभागातील शिक्षिका संघ उपविजेता घोषित करण्यात आला.मराठमोळी सोन्याची नथ व महाराष्ट्राची पैठणी साडी पारितोषिक म्हणून शिक्षिकांना प्रदान करण्यात आले.
या कार्यक्रमाची सुरुवात सरस्वती वंदनेनी झाली त्यानंतर मराठी संस्कृतीवर आधारित नृत्याचे सादरीकरण केले गेले.

🌈 Radiance🌈
Radiance, a soulful treat was organized on Monday, 10th February 2025 in MES Bal Shikshan Mandir EMS. This was the presentation of our students from Std. V to Std . VIII who have been trained in the extra curricular activities in this academic year. There were performances of various activities like Kathak, Bharatnatyam, singing, tabla, violin, guitar and the language activities in Sanskrit, German and Japanese. The motif behind this program was to encourage students' skills and to give them stage courage. All the faculties and the students took efforts to make their performance the best. The programe was graced by the renowned violinist Pandit Atul Kumarji Upadhye, Shri. Tejasji Upadhye and the chairman of the school Mr. Vijay Bhalerao.
Road Safety Awareness Session
MES Bal Shikshan Mandir EMS had organized a Road Safety Awareness Session for the students of Std. VIII and IX on Monday, 3rd February 2025.
The guest speaker, Mrs. Geetanjali Thorat, conducted an engaging and informative session, educating students on essential road safety protocols through videos and visual aids. She highlighted the increased risks faced by riders compared to pedestrians and emphasized the importance of responsible road behaviour.
India records the highest number of fatalities due to road accidents. To address this alarming reality, Mrs. Thorat presented impactful real-life accident videos, illustrating key safety measures to prevent such incidents. She also provided a live demonstration on the correct way to wear a helmet and other crucial safety precautions.
Students were introduced to road signs, their meanings, and the importance of proper road engineering. The session also covered the significance of the Golden Hour and the role of a Good Samaritan in saving lives. Furthermore, students were informed about legal consequences related to road safety violations.
The session concluded with a Teen Road Safety Pledge, reinforcing the importance of responsible road behaviour.

🚀🛰️ Exploring space with space on wheels 🚀🛰️
MES Bal Shikshan Mandir English Medium School leaves no stone untouched to give its students the opportunity to explore the untouched arena. Students got an opportunity to explore space on wheels exhibition in its campus on a very remarkable day that is the Republic Day of India.
It was initiated by the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO)and VIBHA, a mobile exhibition showcasing both working and static scientific models. This innovative exhibition aimed to foster awareness of space science and spark curiosity among students. In addition, BSM organized various competitions to encourage a scientific mindset, including quizzes, essays, and drawings, all themed around space exploration.
The occasion was honoured by several distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Brigadier Dilip Ganesh Patwardhan, Guest of Honour Mrs. Archana Dilip Patwardhan, Hon. Shri. Shree Prasad ji, Organizing Secretary for Paschim Kshetra (Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat), Dr. Manasi Malgaonkar – National Governing Member, Dr. Kaustubh Sakhare, Secretary, Vigyan Bharti Paschim Maharashtra, Pro. Abhishek Kulkarni, Treasurer, Vigyan Bharti Paschim Maharashtra, Mr. Chaphekar, State Coordinator, Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Paschim Maharashtra, Mr. Vijay Bhalerao, Chairman of the School Committee, Dr. Santosh Deshpande, and other dignitaries from Maharashtra Education Society.
The Space on Wheels was an excellent opportunity for curious visitors to see and understand the working of various initiatives by ISRO. This exhibition received a warm response from students, parents and visitors.
Republic Day: 2025
The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Maharashtra Education Society's Bal Shikshan Mandir English Medium School. Republic Day commemorates the adoption of India's Constitution and the country’s transition to a republic on 26th January, 1950. The event commenced with unfurling of flag and an energetic March Past, highlighting remarkable coordination and teamwork.
Outstanding students were felicitated by the Chief Guest, Brigadier Dilip Patwardhan, in recognition of their achievements in various fields. The dazzling performances captivated the audience, leaving a lasting impression on all present.

Field Trips: 2024
Field trips play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of students. They provide opportunities for hands-on learning, real-world application of classroom concepts, and holistic development.
This was also a perfect blend of experiential learning, real-world exposure and a break from their routine. While the young ones had fun at resorts, the older ones tried to find their career inspiration through the process. Various destinations were explored by the students of different grades of MES Bal Shikshan Mandir English Medium School.
Vidyavrat: the beginning of unending pursuit of knowledge.
29th November 2024 :
MES Bal Shikshan Mandir EMS has been conducting Vidyavrat every year for the students of Std. VIII. This auspicious ceremony was arranged on 29th November 2024. The ceremony is similar to Vratbandh or Upnayan.
Ceremonies like Vidyavrat sanksar have acquired a great importance in this world of distractions and deceit. This consecration helps them to regain the virtues and find the goal of their life. All the students of Std. VIII recited Sanskrit verses and abhang. They were accompanied by their parents on this occasion. The chief guests were Mr. and Mrs. Hemant Wagh, who run NGO to promote Indian culture across the world and Mrs. Shubhada Dhande, Sanskrit scholar who has guided hundreds of school students in learning the Sanskrit in her 40 years long career as a Sanskrit teacher.They explained values of honesty and patriotism and importance of knowledge in enlightening life. MES School Committee Chairman Mr. Vijay Bhalerao and Visitor Mrs. Deshpande graced the ceremony with their presence. Students and parents left for home with immense satisfaction and firm decision for the pursuit of knowledge.

Celebration of Constitution Day!!!

BSM celebrated the Constitution Day with great enthusiasm. The morning began with the importance of this day. The preamble was read by the future generation of India i.e. students of std. V,VI and VII. Children were eager to know about their constitution. A small quiz about the same was conducted to encourage students to know and understand more about the Constitution. BSM also has encouraged students to participate in Vishwaroop Olympiad which is based on understanding of the Constitution of India. This program was arranged under the guidance of school Principal Mrs. Aditi Kulkarni. It received a warm response from the students.
Celebration of MES Foundation Day at BSM
19th Nov. 2024 :
Established in the year 1860, the Maharashtra Education Society has been contributing to the field of education by providing education from kindergarten to post-graduation. With a view to impart quality education to the rural parts, besides having top colleges, schools and institutes in the city of Pune, MES has expanded to various parts of Maharashtra.
BSM is proud to be one of the MES schools and shows adherence to its rich legacy and tradition. MES Foundation Day was celebrated warmly in the school. Students understood the background of the M.E.S. and also sang the song of its glory i e. MES song with great pride. Principal Mrs Aditi Kulkarni, guided students about the insights of the society and told them about the responsibility they carry to take forward this glorious legacy.
The program received a warm response from students.
Honouring Milestones and Celebrating Families....
26 Oct.2024: This wonderful tagline served the purpose of celebrating families on the onset of the festival of lights.
Teachers and staff had a different glow when they invited their family members for Pre - Diwali celebration at school. Teachers from all sections showed the extension of school building to their family members.
A special program was arranged in an auditorium for celebrating these bonds. Senior Teachers and Principals of different sections were felicitated at the hands of committee members. School committee chairman Shri. Vijay Bhalerao ji delivered a speech and his words of appreciation served as a pat on teachers' backs. The function was graced by all the committee members and they appreciated this effort of family bonding, initiated at BSM. This evening became melodious with mesmerizing performances from students and teachers. Mrs. Aditi Kulkarni, Principal -Secondary and Higher Secondary School, presented a formal vote of thanks.
The party ended with a scrumptious dinner which everyone enjoyed. In all it was a unique opportunity for teachers and their family members to rejoice this evening which was meant for them.

MES BSM EMS has always tried to catch the change and pick up the vibes to make her students ride on it confidently. MES has always motivated this journey of upgrade and updation.
An inauguration of MES BSM's New spacious building for Pre- Primary Section and opening of extension of the building was done at the hands of MES Alumni and Minister of State Cooperation and Civil Aviation, Shri. Muralidhar ji Mohol. He spoke about the efforts which MES took over the years to impart quality education to students. He also praised the society for its commitment to excellence.
The program was graced by Air Marshal Bhushan ji Gokhale (Retd.), President, MES, Shri. Pradeep ji Naik, Vice- President, MES, Shri. Babasaheb Shinde, Chairman, Governing Body, MES, Shri. Vijay ji Bhalerao, Chairman School Committee BSM and the principals of all three sections of the school. Parents and teachers involved themselves joyfully for the success of the occasion.
BSM ADVENTURE CLUB @RAIRESHWAR
14th September 2024 - Raireshwar is one of the most beautiful forts in Maharashtra. Shivaji Maharaj took an oath to form Swarajya in the temple on Raireshwar, thus this fort has a special place in the hearts of Shivbhakta. Also it is famous for finding soils of seven different colours which is unique.
BSM Adventure Club took BSMians to visit this fort which showcased nature at its best at this time of the year.
Students enjoyed the trek. It was a feast of fitness and fun together for kids.

Celebration of Ganeshotsav at BSM.
07 Sept. 2024 :
Pune is the cultural capital of Maharashtra. This city began a social celebration of Ganeshotsav. Thus Ganeshotsav marks special importance to Punekars. BSM being a leading school in Pune, helps students in understanding their cultural ties.
The atmosphere became joyous when God Ganesha was installed on its specially made throne. Students from Std. X welcomed lord Ganesha on the beats of traditional percussion instruments like dhol-tasha and sang praises of God Ganesha. The next day all students enjoyed aarti and recited athatvashirsha.
Students from Std.VII also attended atharvvashirsh pathan program at Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesh Mandal.
In all this small festival brought happiness and joy to students and teachers as well.
Shades of Mehendi and Colours of Nature.

The holy month Shravan brings with it a message of happiness and prosperity. The first festival of Shravan is Nagpanchami, it reflects our gratitude towards different elements of nature. It is celebrated by drawing Mehendi and worshipping snakes.
MES BSM took the privilege to arrange a Mehendi competition for girls and Poster making competition for boys on this special day of Shravan. It was a theme based activity where girls had to follow the theme 'Nature' and boys were suggested to prepare posters depicting need of 'Conservation of Environment'. The competition was conducted during the last 4 periods of the school. The judges were impressed by the intricate designs in Mehendi and creative poster making.
Students enjoyed the activity and were engrossed in making beautiful posters and drawing mehendi.
Money management in multiple ways.
Money is the strong medium that promotes multiple tasking. Utilization of money is indeed equal as earning it.
A session on Finance management was conducted for the secondary teachers. The proprietors of Era Capital Pvt Ltd. Mr Kaustubh Wadekar ( CFA) and Mr Mahesh Kulkarni ( Head of Sales) briefed the teachers about how to manage the savings, ways to help money grow, how to draw passive income and other such detailed account of monetary transactions were discussed. Instead of money kept in savings one should opt to invest in trusted funds to earn profit in future , similarly changing the passive outlook of handling money into cautious effort to raise the cash in hand and capital was explained well.
Kargil Vijay Diwas
A guest lecture was conducted by Col. Arun Dhongade for the students of Std. VIII, IX and X on the topic 'a career in the armed forces'. It was an interactive and inspiring session for all. Kargil Vijay Diwas marks the unwavering resolve of Indian armed forces in protecting India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This is the day to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan and to honour the sacrifices of hundreds of Indian soldiers.
Orenda : A thematic journey of aspiring artists.
The stage was set to celebrate the melodrama, aesthetic beauty, humor and other shades of drama. The occasion was an inter house competition at BSM. Std V and VI students presented drama meticulously and thrilled everyone in the auditorium. The dialogue delivery, expression, intonation were scrupulous. Students were into the skin of the character they were portraying. English department guided the students from selection to presentation of drama. Selected drama topics were close to students mindset. The day was loaded with fun and frolic gestures. The runner- up winner was the Neptune House.
The Pluto House was declared victorious .
Green environment save environment.
12 July 2024.
MES BSM school Science club had organized a lecture on preservation and conservation of environment for Std V and VI students. Dr. Swati Korde was the resource person on this occasion. She put forth the need to nurture the thought of environment protection into action. The concept of Recycle- Reduce and Reuse was well illustrated. Further she suggested the replacement of non biodegradable products with nature friendly things. Students should stand as mighty warriors to fight the nature decomposition. Students interacted and cleared their doubts in question answer session.
Headmistress, Mrs. Aditi Kulkarni made a appeal to the students not to use plastic bottles and tiffin as well.
Std X Field Visit to Raireshwar Fort.
6th July 2023-24.
Practical experience is always beneficial to learn better and for long time retention. Field visits give exposure to children to explore and to get the experience. Visit to the Rireshwar fort was fruitful as students understood geographical and historical importance of Sahyadri mountain range in paving the path of swaraj by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Hence visit to such auspicious place was indeed a special moment. It was a planned activity for the students of std X. Students discussed geographical and historical concepts in detail with concern teachers.

MES EBSM always contributes for the wellbeing of the society.
A lecture by well known environmentalist Mr Vinod Bodhankar was arranged for the students of Std VI ,VII and X to highlight the importance of marine and marine life.
In the Sagar Mitra Abhiyaan students, teachers deposit the dry plastic and e- waste in the school for further recycling.
Mr. Vinod Bodhankar sir gives valuable guidance in this regard. Recycling, Reducing and Reusing plastic waste to preserve Oceans is the gist of the project. With the growing need to create awareness to protect blue- nation that is the earth, such sparking initiative are important as they work to save , sooth and support water reservoirs and aquatic flora and fauna.

The Constitution has given the franchise right to every Indian. At school level, children enjoy and exercise the right and select their official representatives.
The school general elections were conducted on for the post of Head boy, Head girl, Prefects and Vice Prefects on 24th of June.
On 28th June Headmistress Mrs Aditi Kulkarni administered the Vote of conduct to the newly elected students representatives.

Nation building session by Alumni
26 June 2024.
Nation building session was conducted by our alumni (batch 2017)Shubhankar Swarup Kalekar for std 9th and 10th students in the MES auditorium on 26/06/24.Shubhankar Kalekar being the candidate of Indian Navy academy will be commissioned as officer in Indian Navy in June 2025. He guided the students with the various aspects and opportunities in Indian Navy service. He also shared his valuable experience with the students. It was indeed a brain storming session. The students were further guided by headmistress Mrs. Aditi Kulkarni madam. Headmistress Mrs. Aditi Kulkarni, Assistant headmistress Mrs. Bhagyashree Dhamale, Supervisor Mrs. Sneha pethkar, all teachers of std IX and Std X and students of Std IX and Std X were present for the session.
Balance in diet, Balance in life
25 June 2024:
A balanced diet supplies the nutrients our body needs to work effectively. Without balanced nutrition, our body is more prone to disease, infection, fatigue, and low performance. Children who don't get enough healthy foods may face growth and developmental problems, poor academic performance, and frequent infections.
MES Bal Shikshan Mandir takes initiative in developing good habits among its students. Vidyavrat is a flagship program of the school. The school conducts various lectures to make students aware about the Indian Knowledge System which enables them to remain focused on studies and be good citizens. The first lecture under the series explained the importance of a balanced diet in students' life.
Mr Vishwas Joshi, Mrs Swati Unkule and Mrs Ashwini Atkekar explained the importance of balanced diet and ill effects of frequent consumption of junk food to the students.
This lecture received a warm response from students. This lecture series started under the guidance of Mrs Aditi Kulkarni, headmistress of the school.
