History of BSM
M.E.S. Balshikshan Mandir English Medium School started in 1979 at M.E.S. Balshikshan Mandir Marathi Medium School on Bhandarkar road. It shifted to Sou. Vimlabai Garware High School and was later transferred to the current IMCC building in a format of one division having 60 students in each class. First Std X batch appeared in 1991. Since year 2000 a sprawling campus building was designed with the entire structure oriented towards an ideal and optimum ambiance for school students to experience stress free learning.

Quality Policy
We strive towards a continual development of innovatively structured educational modules as per applicable requirements so as to enhance academic excellence, nurture scientific attitude and develop team spirit to create socially, ethically and environmentally sensitive children and thus enable them to lead a meaningful life.
We strive towards continual improvement of our Quality Management System to achieve this goal by upgrading various skills of teachers.
Social Outreach Programme
The school has been consciously participating in the societal commitments-
- Conducting workshops for slow learner’s school.
- Field participation in STOP TREE CUTTING drives initiative to save trees in the City to develop in the students a consciousness and responsibility towards environment.
- Help to certain rural schools –
- Khed shivapur – give and take of grammar skills and Art & Craft work.
- Senapati Bapat School – Teacher and students exchanged the know-how of science practicals for students of class IX & X.
- International Exchange Programme-
- Civics curriculum development Master’s trainer workshop at Trinity college.
- 4 Rivers 1 World project:- River-Water Testing field-trips to Mula and Mutha Rivers with La-Motte water testing kits and Study and Reporting of Causes and Remedies of River Pollution.
- Done in colalaboration with IEARN (International Education and Resource Network).
- Involved student and teachers exchange amongst India, USA, Bangladesh and Nepal students and teachers with visits to NY.
- Regular reporting of progress of field-trips and studies on 4-R-1-W group-discussion teacher and student forums.
In the year 2007 two students along with one teacher attended ENVIRONMENT Youth Summit at KOBE, JAPAN. This programme was organized by Jearn, JAPAN. Mainly the activites were related about 7R’s in the environment.
