A Trendsetting Workshop for Educators
MES Bal Shikshan Mandir EMS, Mayur Colony, proudly hosted a transformative two-day workshop on the implementation of NEP 2020 for educators. The event, held on 16th April for Pre-primary and Primary teachers, and 17th April 2025 for Secondary teachers, brought together approximately 200 dedicated educators and 45 enthusiastic HMs from various English and Marathi medium SSC Board schools.
Under the visionary leadership of School Committee Chairman Mr. Vijay Bhalerao and the esteemed Visitor Dr. Neha Deshpande, the workshop provided an enriching learning experience, fostering innovation among educators. The sessions were guided by a team of eminent educationists, with Dr. A.L. Deshmukh spearheading the initiative.
This much-anticipated workshop received wide appreciation from HMs and teachers representing other schools, who acknowledged MES BSM EMS’s tireless efforts in organizing such an impactful and much-needed event.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, MES BSM EMS was honoured to host Mrs. Ananditai Patil and Dr. Dilip Sheth as the esteemed Chief Guests on 16th and 17th April, respectively. Their presence inspired the participants.
Moreover, the talents of BSM’s dedicated faculty shone brightly during the workshop, as they prepared engaging presentations on key topics and designed innovative activities that captivated the participants.

🚀🛰️ Exploring space with space on wheels 🚀🛰️
MES Bal Shikshan Mandir English Medium School leaves no stone untouched to give its students the opportunity to explore the untouched arena. Students got an opportunity to explore space on wheels exhibition in its campus on a very remarkable day that is the Republic Day of India.
It was initiated by the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO)and VIBHA, a mobile exhibition showcasing both working and static scientific models. This innovative exhibition aimed to foster awareness of space science and spark curiosity among students. In addition, BSM organized various competitions to encourage a scientific mindset, including quizzes, essays, and drawings, all themed around space exploration.
The occasion was honoured by several distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Brigadier Dilip Ganesh Patwardhan, Guest of Honour Mrs. Archana Dilip Patwardhan, Hon. Shri. Shree Prasad ji, Organizing Secretary for Paschim Kshetra (Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat), Dr. Manasi Malgaonkar – National Governing Member, Dr. Kaustubh Sakhare, Secretary, Vigyan Bharti Paschim Maharashtra, Pro. Abhishek Kulkarni, Treasurer, Vigyan Bharti Paschim Maharashtra, Mr. Chaphekar, State Coordinator, Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Paschim Maharashtra, Mr. Vijay Bhalerao, Chairman of the School Committee, Dr. Santosh Deshpande, and other dignitaries from Maharashtra Education Society.
The Space on Wheels was an excellent opportunity for curious visitors to see and understand the working of various initiatives by ISRO. This exhibition received a warm response from students, parents and visitors.

MES BSM EMS has always tried to catch the change and pick up the vibes to make her students ride on it confidently. MES has always motivated this journey of upgrade and updation.
An inauguration of MES BSM’s New spacious building for Pre- Primary Section and opening of extension of the building was done at the hands of MES Alumni and Minister of State Cooperation and Civil Aviation, Shri. Muralidhar ji Mohol. He spoke about the efforts which MES took over the years to impart quality education to students. He also praised the society for its commitment to excellence.
The program was graced by Air Marshal Bhushan ji Gokhale (Retd.), President, MES, Shri. Pradeep ji Naik, Vice- President ,MES, Shri. Babasaheb Shinde, Chairman, Governing Body, MES, Shri. Vijay ji Bhalerao, Chairman School Committee BSM and the principals of all three sections of the school. Parents and teachers involved themselves joyfully for the success of the occasion.

राज्यस्तरीय आंतरशालेय ‘मएसो क्रीडा करंडक’
मैदानी क्रीडास्पर्धेचे २३ ते २५ जानेवारीला आयोजन
– आनंदी ताई पाटील यांची माहिती; प्राथमिक शाळेच्या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठीची एकमेव निवासी स्पर्धा
पुणे: महाराष्ट्र एज्युकेशन सोसायटीच्या (मएसो) क्रीडावर्धिनी आणि बालशिक्षण मंदिर इंग्लिश मिडीयम स्कूल यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने ‘मएसो क्रीडा करंडक’ या राज्यस्तरीय आंतरशालेय क्रीडा स्पर्धेचे आयोजन केले आहे. येत्या २३, २४ व २५ जानेवारी २०२६ या तीन दिवशी ही स्पर्धा मयूर कॉलनी येथील बालशिक्षण मंदिर प्रशालेच्या प्रांगणात होणार आहे, अशी माहिती मएसो संस्थेच्या नियामक मंडळाचे उपाध्यक्षा आनंदी पाटील यांनी मंगळवारी पत्रकार परिषदेत दिली.
प्रसंगी शाळा समिती आणि मएसो क्रीडावर्धिनीचे अध्यक्ष विजय भालेराव, संस्थेचे सचिव अतुल कुलकर्णी, क्रीडावर्धिनीचे महामात्र व संस्थेचे सहसचिव सुधीर भोसले, शाळेच्या महामात्रा डॉ. नेहा देशपांडे, क्रीडावर्धिनीचे क्रीडासमन्वयक प्रा. शैलेश आपटे, बालशिक्षण मंदिर इंग्लिश मिडीयम शाळेच्या प्राथमिक विभागाच्या मुख्याध्यापिका मंजुषा दुर्वे आणि उपमुख्याध्यापिका डॉ. वैशाली कुलकर्णी आदी उपस्थित होते. यावेळी स्पर्धेच्या ‘वीर’ मॅस्कॉटचे अनावरण करण्यात आले.
आनंदी पाटील म्हणाल्या “स्पर्धेचे हे १४ वे वर्ष असून, संपूर्ण महाराष्ट्रात ६ ते १० वयोगटाच्या खेळाडूंसाठी भरविण्यात येणारी ही एकमेव निवासी स्पर्धा आहे. विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये लहान वयापासून क्रीडासंस्कृती रुजविण्यासाठी ‘मएसो क्रीडा करंडक’ ही स्पर्धा आयोजित करण्यात येते. या क्रीडास्पर्धा दरवर्षी जानेवारी महिन्यात सलग तीन दिवस भरविल्या जातात. यात प्रामुख्याने सूर्यनमस्कार, लंगडी, डॉजबॉल आणि गोल खो-खो या सांघिक मैदानी खेळांचा समावेश असतो. खेळांमुळे विद्यार्थ्यांचे शरीर तंदुरुस्त राहते, ताकद, चपळता व एकाग्रता वाढते. यातून संघभावना, शिस्त, आत्मविश्वास आणि खेळाडूवृत्ती विकसित होते. या सर्व कौशल्यांचा विद्यार्थ्यांना त्यांच्या भावी आयुष्यात खेळाडू म्हणून प्रगती साधताना निश्चितच फायदा होईल.”
विजय भालेराव म्हणाले, “संस्थेच्या सर्व प्राथमिक शाळांसह परिसरातील एकूण २० शाळांमधून सुमारे १२०० खेळाडूंनी स्पर्धेत सहभाग नोंदवला आहे. हा क्रीडा महोत्सव पर्यावरणपूरक पद्धतीने व प्लास्टिकमुक्त स्वरूपात साजरा करण्यात येणार आहे. त्यासाठी सर्व शिक्षकवर्गासाठी ‘झिरो वेस्ट मॅनेजमेंट’वर कार्यशाळेचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. खेळाव्यतिरिक्त कला आणि साहित्य हे देखील व्यक्तिमत्व विकासाचे अंगभूत घटक आहेत. त्या अनुषंगाने मुलांच्या सर्वांगीण विकासासाठी या आंतरशालेय स्पर्धांच्या काळात मुलांसाठी मोकळ्या वेळात ओरिगामी कार्यशाळा, जोशी रेल्वे संग्रहालय भेट, मेट्रो सफर, वाचक आणि कला कट्टा, मूल्याधिष्ठित लघुचित्रपट, मनोरंजनात्मक कार्यक्रम असे विविध उपक्रम आयोजित करण्यात आले आहे.”
या स्पर्धांच्या आयोजनासाठी विजय भालेराव, डॉ. नेहा देशपांडे, सुधीर भोसले, प्रा. शैलेश आपटे यांच्यासह संस्थेचे मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी सचिन आंबर्डेकर यांचे मार्गदर्शन लाभले. शाळेच्या मुख्याध्यापिका मंजुषा दुर्वे यांनी स्पर्धेचे संपूर्ण नियोजन केले, तर शाळेच्या उपमुख्याध्यापिका डॉ. वैशाली कुलकर्णी तसेच सर्व शिक्षिका, क्रीडाशिक्षक यांनी क्रीडास्पर्धा यशस्वीरित्या पार पाडण्यासाठी विशेष परिश्रम घेतले.

The 11th edition of BSM Athletics meet was organised on 19th February 2026 at BSM grounds. 19th February is also celebrated as the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His exemplary, valuable deeds and principles are revised and imbibed in everyone’s walk of life. Sports and patriotism are inseparable factors in nation’s growth.
Each year BSM and MES Kridavardhini host a spectacular athletics meet for the aspiring sports stars of 10 to 14 years.

BSM sports stars carried the torch in the ground signifying their commendable achievements. There after dignitaries offered floral tribute to the idol of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. BSM choir sang the state song of Maharashtra ‘Jai Jai Maharashtra maza..’ and charged the environment.
Total 1175 athletes from school and sports club across the city had participated in the event.
Individual events like running race, long jump, spot jump, shot put were chalked out.
For the prize distribution ceremony Mr Jagannath Lakade, District Sports Officer of Pune with distinguished achievements in sports was invited, (the 21 times recipient of National sports award, Silver medalist in Asian games, served 15 years in defense and the winner of Shiv Chhatrapati sports award).
For team events Abhinav EMS( 74 points) stood first followed by MES Kridavardhini (59 points) and the third place was grabbed by Eklavya Athletics club(50 points).
Jaihind School of Pimpri got special prize for maximum entries.
At the end of the event BSM students presented a Powada. The meet was the confluence of camaraderie, commitment and collabarative team spirit.
Republic Day: 2025
The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Maharashtra Education Society’s Bal Shikshan Mandir English Medium School. Republic Day commemorates the adoption of India’s Constitution and the country’s transition to a republic on 26th January, 1950. The event commenced with unfurling of flag and an energetic March Past, highlighting remarkable coordination and teamwork.
Outstanding students were felicitated by the Chief Guest, Brigadier Dilip Patwardhan, in recognition of their achievements in various fields. The dazzling performances captivated the audience, leaving a lasting impression on all present.

The programme concluded on a patriotic note with the powerful rendition of Vande Mataram.
