Primary Activities 2025-26
World Environment Day was celebrated in our school with great enthusiasm. The program began with a warm welcome to the newly appointed teachers, followed by their brief introduction. A special speech was delivered by our Chairman, Mr. Vijay Bhalerao, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation and sharing insights on the school’s future development plans. To mark the occasion, teachers actively participated in a sapling plantation drive within the school campus, promoting a green and healthy environment. The event served as a reminder of our responsibility towards nature and created a positive and eco-friendly atmosphere in the school.
A two-day Mulyavardhan refresher training session was conducted for teachers on 10th and 11th June 2025 by Mutha Foundation. The sessions were led by the experienced and dynamic trainer, Payam Sir. The objective of the training was to revisit the core values of the Mulyavardhan program and to equip teachers with effective strategies to implement value-based education in classrooms. Teachers actively participated in discussions, role plays, and group activities focused on inclusiveness, empathy, and student engagement.
The training emphasized the importance of creating a democratic and respectful classroom environment. Various interactive sessions helped teachers reflect on their current practices and explore new methods to make value education more meaningful and relatable for students. Payam Sir's insightful guidance and motivational approach inspired teachers to become role models and change agents. Overall, the training was highly enriching, energizing, and successfully reinforced the core principles of Mulyavardhan.
Election and oath-taking ceremony was conducted on Wednesday, 25th June,2nd July respectively. The election for Head Prefect and Vice Prefect took place on 25th June. After a fair and transparent voting process, The Head Prefect and Vice Prefect were selected based on leadership qualities and student votes.
On Friday, 27th June, the selection of House Captains for all four houses was conducted. Students showed great interest and team spirit. The selected leaders were chosen for their discipline, dedication, and teamwork. Teachers and house in-charges guided and encouraged the students throughout the process, making it a learning experience for all.
Finally, the oath-taking ceremony was held on Wednesday, 2nd July. The newly elected prefects, vice-prefect and captains took their oaths in the presence of the Headmistress Manjusha Durve, Asst. Headmistress Vaishali Kulkarni and teachers. They promised to be responsible, honest, and helpful leaders. The Headmistress congratulated the new electedl members and encouraged them to lead by example.

Olympic Day was celebrated on Monday, 23rd June, with great excitement and energy. The event aimed to spread awareness about the Olympic Games and encourage students to participate in sports. Mr. Yogesh Yeole was invited as the special guest for the occasion. He was warmly welcomed by the Headmistress, teachers, and students.
Mr. Yeole spoke to the students about the importance of sports, fitness, and discipline in daily life. He also explained the values of the Olympic Games such as teamwork, respect, and excellence. Students took part in various physical activities and games, making the event lively and enjoyable. The Headmistress thanked Mr. Yeole for his valuable guidance. The celebration inspired students to stay active and highlighted the role of sports in building a strong and healthy future.
Doctor’s Day was celebrated on 1st July 2025. The students of Standard IV from Bal Shikshan Mandir English Medium School visited nearby clinics to express their gratitude towards the noble profession of doctors. This visit was organized to honor the dedication and commitment doctors show in caring for people's health and well-being. The students had a meaningful interaction with the doctors, where they asked questions and learned about the importance of staying healthy. They presented handmade ‘Thank You’ cards to the doctors as a token of appreciation and respect. The doctors were touched by the thoughtful gesture and warmly appreciated the students' efforts. The doctors visited by the students included Dr. Shreedhar Chiplunkar, Dr. Savani Gokhale, Dr. Radhika Kulkarni, Dr. Soham Sonis, Dr. Jyotsna Chitroda, and Dr. Richa. The visit was a valuable experience that helped students understand the vital role doctors play in our lives and inspired them to be caring and responsible citizens.
Ashadi Ekadashi was on Friday, 5th July with great devotion and joy. Students came dressed in beautiful traditional attire, bringing the spirit of the festival alive. A special palkhi was decorated with idols of Lord Vithhal and Rakhumai along with holy paduka. The puja of Vithhal-Rakhumai and the paduka was performed by the Headmistress, Vice Headmistress, Head Prefect, and Vice Prefect with great devotion.
A vibrant procession was carried out in the school premises with students singing bhajans, chanting the name of Vithhal, and performing fugadi joyfully. Many students carried small Tulsi Vrindavan on their heads, symbolising their devotion. The whole atmosphere was filled with energy, devotion, and joy. The celebration helped students understand the cultural and spiritual importance of Ashadi Ekadashi and strengthened their connection to our rich traditions.
A Healthy Tiffin Competition was held on Friday, 4th July for the students of Std III and IV. The aim of this activity was to encourage children to eat healthy and homemade food every day. Students were excited to take part in this fun and learning experience.
Children brought colourful, tasty, and healthy Koshimbir using fruits, vegetables, sprouts, and nuts. Some even added small notes showing the health benefits of the food they carried. The tiffins looked attractive and full of nutrition. Everyone enjoyed seeing and sharing ideas for healthy eating.
Teachers appreciated the hard work done by students. The best tiffin were selected based on nutrition, cleanliness, and presentation. It was a successful event that helped students understand how important it is to eat the right kind of food to stay strong and active.
The Guru Purnima was celebrated on 10th July 2025, our school organized a special event to honor the spirit of mentorship and learning. Coaches from various sports disciplines were invited to interact with students of Std III and IV. The aim was to instill the importance of physical fitness and dedication among young learners.
The event featured three distinguished coaches: Mr. Chetan Bandwalkar, Roll Ball Coach; Mr. Rajkumar Shirke, Athletics Coach; and Mr. Aakash Sawale, Kho Kho Coach. They shared their experiences, challenges, and the benefits of engaging in sports from a young age. The students were excited and inspired to meet professionals who have dedicated their lives to sports and training.
An insightful interview was conducted by Deepak Sir, focusing on the coaches’ specialization, health tips, and fitness routines. The session emphasized discipline, regular exercise, and a healthy lifestyle. It was a memorable and educational celebration.
46th Foundation Day was celebrated on Friday 20th June 2025 with great joy and pride. Many special guests were present for the occasion. Mr. Vijay Bhalerao, Chairman of the School Committee and Member of the Governing Body of MES, was the chief guest. Dr. Neha Deshpande, Visitor of the School Committee, along with Mr. Sudhir Bhosale, Mr. Ajay Purohit, and Dr. Atul Kulkarni, also attended the function.
The Headmistress of the Primary Section, Mrs. Manjusha Durve, and the Headmistress of the Pre-Primary Section, Mrs. Sayli Deshmukh, welcomed all the guests. Former Principals Mrs. Bhagwat, Ms. Karve, and Mrs. Aashalata Naik were also invited. They shared their sweet memories and spoke about the school’s progress over the years. Everyone appreciated how the school has grown and improved.
Mr. Vijay Bhalerao and Dr. Neha Deshpande shared their thoughts and praised the efforts of the staff and students. The program ended with a discussion on the school’s future goals and how it will continue to do well.
A Sagar Mitra workshop was organized for the students of Grade IV on Tuesday, 8th July 2025. The aim of the workshop was to spread awareness about plastic pollution and the importance of reducing its use. The event was part of a year-long program to encourage students to adopt eco-friendly habits.
Mr. Vinod Bodhankar, the guest speaker, interacted with the students and explained the harmful effects of plastic on the environment. He spoke about the importance of recycling and reusing plastic items instead of throwing them away. Through engaging examples and real-life stories, he inspired students to take small steps towards a cleaner planet.
This workshop is part of an ongoing activity being conducted throughout the year to help students understand the importance of avoiding single-use plastic. It encourages them to take responsibility for the environment and contribute to a greener, healthier future. The session was both informative and inspiring.
As part of the school's eco-friendly initiatives, a Paper Bag Distribution Activity was conducted on three consecutive Mondays — 14th July, 21st July, and 28th July 2025. The activity aimed to spread awareness about reducing plastic use and promoting sustainable alternatives like paper bags.
Students actively participated by distributing paper bags in nearby areas such as florists, grocery shops, stationery stores, banks, and among pedestrians. They explained the harmful effects of plastic on the environment and encouraged shopkeepers and local residents to use paper bags instead. The students were enthusiastic and confident in spreading the message.
This activity not only helped in creating awareness among the public but also developed a sense of responsibility in students towards the environment. It was a meaningful step toward promoting eco-friendly habits in the community and inspired many to make the shift from plastic to paper bags.
A Personal Development outbound workshop for teachers was organized on Saturday, 19th July 2025, at the scenic Pethkar Farms. The theme of the workshop was Efficiency and Effectiveness. The natural setting provided a refreshing break from routine, allowing teachers to engage in meaningful discussions and self-reflection.
The workshop aimed at enhancing teachers’ understanding of efficiency and effectiveness in their professional roles. Various barriers that affect performance were identified and discussed. Practical solutions were shared through interactive activities, group tasks, and real-life scenarios, helping teachers find ways to manage time and tasks more productively.
The session was led by three experienced guest speakers — Ms. Smita Lokare, Ms. Girija Likhite, and Ms. Surekha Nande. Their guidance, along with collaborative discussions, left the participants motivated and better equipped to apply the concepts in their classrooms and daily responsibilities. It was a day of learning, sharing, and professional growth.
The Fort Making Competition, ‘Baldurg’ was organised for the students of Std. III on 8th November 2025, Saturday. The objective of the competition was to promote creativity, teamwork, and an understanding of historical significance among the students.
Students enthusiastically participated in the competition and showcased their talent by creating beautifully designed forts using an eco-friendly item. The models reflected the rich heritage of Maharashtra and displayed the students’ originality and craftsmanship. Students also explained the historical importance of the forts they created to the judges Mr. Pushkar Sagade, Mr. Rahul Nalawade, Mr. Prasad Dasari and Advocate Abhijit Deshmukh along with the Chairman of School committee Mr. Vijay Bhalerao and Headmistress Mrs. Manjusha Durve which added value to their presentations.
The judges appreciated the efforts, creativity, and presentation skills of the students.
The Funfair was organised on 8th November with great enthusiasm by the students of Std.IV. The event aimed to provide students with a joyful experience and to promote teamwork, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills.
A variety of game and food stalls with food items such as pasteries, bhel,vadapav and cold coffee were set up by the students. The guests Chef Ravi Apurva,Mrs.Yogita Vaishampayan and Mr.Chinmay Sarda visited the stalls and interacted with students by asking various questions.They aapreciated the confidence and the answers given by the students. These stalls attracted active participation from students, parents, and teachers. Participants enjoyed playing the games and winning prizes.
Overall, the Funfair was a grand success. It provided a platform for students to showcase their talents, learn organisational skills, and enjoy a day of fun and excitement.
Children’s Day was celebrated on 14th November 2025, Friday with great enthusiasm and joy
A special puppet show was organized for the students of Std I and II. The colourful puppets, lively storytelling, and engaging performances kept the children entertained. The show also conveyed simple moral messages in an enjoyable manner. To promote the sportsmanship movie streaming was arranged for std III and IV in the auditorium.
Along with the celebration, the Prize Distribution ceremony for the Fort Making Competition ‘Baldurg’ was conducted. The event aimed to encourage creativity and cultural awareness among students. The winners were felicitated with certificates and prizes by the Chief Guest Mr. Navnath Jadhav along with the Chairman of School Committee Mr. Vijay Bhalerao and Headmistress Mrs. Manjusha Durve. All participants were appreciated for their effort and enthusiasm.

The school celebrated MES Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and reverence. The programme commenced with a photo poojan, performed by the Assistant Headmistress Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni to pay homage to the founders of the institution. This ceremony highlighted the school’s deep respect for its rich legacy and guiding values.
Following the poojan, teachers shared valuable information with the students about the history, vision, and achievements of the MES institution. Students learned about the founders’ contributions, the growth of the organisation over the years, and the importance of upholding its ideals.
The celebration concluded with a melodious म.ए.सो group song presented by the students. Their performance added a sense of unity and pride to the occasion and reflected the spirit of togetherness within the school community.
Overall, the MES Foundation Day celebration served as a meaningful reminder of the institution’s strong roots and continued commitment to education.
Constitution Day was celebrated on 26th November 25, Wednesday to pay special tribute to the chief architect of our Constitution, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, whose vision of justice, equality, and liberty continues to guide our nation.
For this occasion, we invited an esteemed legal professional as our guest speaker Adv. Dr.Pradnya Rajput, Partner at Squad Legal LLP with over 15 years of experience in the field of law. She is a respected practising lawyer who has appeared before District Courts, various tribunals, and other judicial forums across India.
During her address, she explained to the students what the Constitution is, when it was formed, and how, as responsible citizens, students should follow its rules and regulations. She concluded her speech by reading the Preamble along with the students.
To promote the habit of reading among students, School proudly participated in the city-wide Reading Day joining Pune in the event ‘शांतता पुणेकर वाचत आहेत’ conducted on Tuesday, 9th December. The main aim of participating in this drive was to encourage children to develop interest in books and understand the importance of reading in a calm and quiet environment.
During this drive, children actively participated by reading storybooks and other age-appropriate books silently. The activity helped students improve their concentration, imagination, and love for reading. The atmosphere in the school was peaceful, reflecting the true spirit of the initiative.
The drive was successfully carried out with enthusiastic participation from students.

The Annual Social -'Khel Gatha' function of the school was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 23rd December, Tuesday and 24th December, Wednesday-25 on the school playground. The programme began with a warm welcome of the chief guest Dr. Umesh Bibve, Mr. Manoj Erande, Dr.Tushar Gujar, Parents, and Students.
The function started with a march past lead by the girls wearing the jerseys of Indian Women’s Cricket team as a tribute to women in Blue followed by the sports achiever of the school and then the students with their teachers. The lightning of torch marked the start of performances. The sports drills, lezim, and lati-kathi performances were energetic and well-coordinated, which won loud applause from the audience.
The fun games were also organized for parents, which added joy and excitement to the event. The chief guest encouraged the students and spoke about the importance of sports in maintaining good health and discipline.
The Annual Social Function was a grand success and helped students learn teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship.
M.E.S Karandak, an inter-school sports competition 2026 was organized from Friday 23.01.2026 to Sunday 25.01.2026.
This competition marked the 14th consecutive year of the event and remained the only residential sports competition in Maharashtra for primary school students in the 6 to 10 age group. Around 1,200 students from 16 schools, including MES primary schools and neighbouring institutions, participated enthusiastically.

The entire planning and execution were efficiently carried out by Mrs. Manjusha Durve, Headmistress- Primary section, with dedicated support from Dr.Vaishali Kulkarni- Assistant Head mistress, teachers, and physical education instructors, ensuring the successful completion of the event.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Mihir Ambre -Chhatrapati award winner as an international swimmer. He is also a proud alumnus. The closing ceremony was carried out by Tejal Hasabnis she is woman cricketer, excelling as a both batter and bowler. Both the chief guests encouraged and motivated children to take an active interest in sports.
The competition aimed at nurturing sports culture among students from an early age. Events included Surya Namaskar, Langdi, Dodgeball, and Goal Kho-Kho games, which helped enhance students’ physical fitness, agility, concentration, teamwork, discipline, self-confidence, and sportsmanship.
The sports festival was conducted in an environment-friendly and plastic-free manner. In addition to sports, several enrichment activities were arranged for students, such as origami workshops, visits to the Joshi Railway Museum, metro rides, reading and art forums, value-based short films, and recreational programs, ensuring the holistic development of the participants. Thus the MES Karandak 2026 concluded on a successful note.
The Night Out programme for Std IV students was organised with the aim of providing a joyful learning experience beyond the classroom. The students participated enthusiastically in this unique event, which included a full-night stay in tents set up within the school premises.
The programme began with a story narration session. Mr. Prakash Parkhi a well-known story narrator who owns ‘Natyasanskar kala academy’ narrated a beautiful story name –‘Jaduch ghar’ .This session helped spark their imagination and created a calm and engaging atmosphere. After the story session, a delicious dinner was served, and the students enjoyed the meal in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Following dinner, students settled into their tents, creating a sense of adventure and excitement. In the evening, a warm and cheerful bonfire was arranged. Students gathered around the bonfire and enjoyed singing songs together, which filled the atmosphere with joy and enthusiasm. The next morning, before leaving, students participated in a refreshing exercise session, which helped them feel energetic and active. The night stay experience helped students develop independence, cooperation, and social bonding. Overall, the Night Out programme was a grand success and became a memorable experience for the students of Std IV.
School organized an educational field trip for the students of Std I to IV. The trip was planned to provide practical learning experiences and joyful exposure outside the classroom. The students were very excited and actively participated in all activities.
The students of Std I visited Rajmata Jijau Garden on 13.02.26, Friday They observed different types beautiful landscapes and designs. In today’s modern and fast-paced world, Rajmata Jijau garden serves as a vital space where history, culture and nature come together. The visit helped them understand nature and the importance of caring for the environment.
The students of Std II visited the Parle-G factory on 13.02.26, Friday. They learned about the process of making biscuits, from mixing ingredients to packaging. The staff explained hygiene, teamwork, and safety measures followed in the factory. Students were excited to see the machines in action and understood how their favourite biscuits are made. They also enjoyed tasting fresh biscuits from the factory. It was an informative and delightful experience.
The students of Std III visited Janjati Kalyan Ashram on 12.02.26, Thursday. They learned about traditions and community service activities conducted by the Ashram. Students interacted with members and understood the importance of helping and supporting others. Students also donated some grocery items to the Ashram. The visit helped develop empathy, respect, and social awareness among students.
Std IV – Balewadi Stadium
The students of Std IV visited Balewadi Stadium on 12.02.26, Thursday. They explored the sports facilities and learned about different games played at national and international levels. Teachers explained the importance of physical fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship. Students felt inspired by seeing a professional sports stadium and showed great enthusiasm.
The field trips were a great success. Students returned with happy memories and valuable learning experiences.
School organized an informative and enriching workshop on the National Education Policy (NEP) for the teachers of M.E.S English Medium School,Shirwal on 21.02.26,Saturday. The session aimed to provide a clear understanding of the new educational framework and its effective implementation in classrooms. The workshop began with an insightful session by the Headmistress Mrs. Manjusha Durve, on “What is NEP?” She explained the vision, objectives, and importance of NEP in transforming the Indian education system. She highlighted how NEP focuses on holistic development, skill-based learning, and competency-based education to prepare students for the future.The next session was conducted by Mrs. Pallavi Palaskar, who elaborated on Curricular Goals (C.G.) and Competencies (C). She explained how Curricular Goals provide direction to teaching-learning processes and how Competencies define the specific skills and knowledge students should acquire. The session helped teachers understand how to align lesson planning with defined goals and measurable competencies.Further, Mrs. Savita Dhumal conducted an engaging session on various Teaching Methodologies suggested under NEP. She emphasized activity-based learning, experiential learning, collaborative work, and student-centered approaches. After the methodologies session,Mrs.pallavi bhogade conducted a detailed session on Learning outcomes. She explained the importance of clearly defined learning ootcomes.
The final session on the Evaluation Pattern was again led by Mrs. Manjusha Durve. She explained the shift from rote learning to competency-based assessment. She highlighted the importance of continuous and comprehensive evaluation, formative assessments, and providing constructive feedback to support student growth.The workshop concluded on a positive note with active participation from all teachers.
The ‘Swarvedh’ Singing Competition was organized through ‘M.E.S Kalavardhini’ of Maharashtra Education Society, on Monday, 23rd February 2026. The event was inaugurated by renowned singer Aarti Kundalkar and eminent harmonium player Suyog Kundalkar.
The programme was presided over by Vice President of the Governing Body of M.E.S and entrepreneur Mrs. Ananditai Patil. On the dais were Dr. Dilip Sheth, President of ‘M.E.S Kalavardhini’, and Dr. Govind Kulkarni, Secretary.
A total of 600 students participated through 58 teams across three categories.:

The folk music categories included Kirtan, Bharud, Gavlan, and Powada.
While addressing the gathering, Aarti Kundalkar emphasized the essential need for art education in school life. She stated that singing, instrumental music, dance, and other art forms build confidence among students and help in the holistic development of their personalities. Suyog Kundalkar said that M.E.S has been nurturing musical values among students for many years and that such competitions introduce children to music at an early age.
In her presidential address, Mrs. Ananditai Patil expressed that ‘Swarvedh’ provides an excellent inter-school platform for students at a young age. She suggested expanding its scope in the future to include various other art forms so that more students can benefit from it.
In his introductory speech, Dr. Dilip Sheth stated that the objective of M.E.S Kalavardhini’ is to inculcate artistic values among students through various cultural initiatives.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Govind Kulkarni, Secretary of ‘M.E.S Kalavardhini’, and the programme was anchored by Kavita Chati.
The Prize distribution ceremony for ‘Swarvedh’ was followed on Tuesday,24th February 2026, at the hands of renowned percussion artist Mr. Santosh More and Shahiri artist Mr. Hemantraje Mavale.The function was presided over by Babasaheb Shinde, Chairman of the Governing Body M.E.S. and all other respected dignitaries.
M.E.S Bal Shikshan Mandir English Medium School received a consolation prize for their presentation of Gondhal.
The Annual Exhibition of school was conducted with great enthusiasm and vibrant participation under the theme “Khel Yatra – Exploring Indian Traditional Games” on 25th February-2026, Wednesday. The exhibition aimed to create awareness among students about the rich heritage of Indian traditional indoor and outdoor games and their importance in developing physical fitness, teamwork, concentration, and cultural values.
The programme was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Shirish Vijay More-Associate Professor at Chandrashekar Agashe College of Physical Education, Pune accompanied by, Mr.Vijay Bhalerao- Chairman of School committee. Students actively participated in the exhibition. Each standard was assigned topics related to Indian traditional indoor and outdoor games.
The exhibition area was beautifully decorated with creative charts, working models, handmade props, and informative displays. Students confidently explained their projects to parents and visitors, showcasing their understanding and research skills. The exhibition not only enhanced students’ knowledge but also boosted their confidence, creativity, and communication skills.
The Annual Exhibition concluded on a joyful and successful note, leaving everyone inspired to preserve and promote Indian traditional games in daily life.
Marathi Rajbhasha Din was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 27th February 2026, Friday to promote love and respect for the Marathi language. On this occasion, students were given information about famous Marathi poets and writers and their valuable contribution to Marathi literature.
Various activities were organized to make the celebration interesting and meaningful. Students enthusiastically sang Marathi songs and appreciated the beauty of the language through music. Storytelling activities were also conducted during the regular Marathi periods, where students listened to and shared short Marathi stories.
Through these activities, students developed a deeper understanding and appreciation of Marathi language and literature. The celebration successfully encouraged students to value their mother tongue and cultural heritage.
The closing ceremony of the “Curious Minds” sessions, organized under the Greenleaf Foundation, was held on Thursday 5th March-26 with great enthusiasm. These sessions were conducted once every week and focused on nature and amazing facts, helping students develop curiosity and awareness about the natural world.
During the ceremony, students and parents shared their experiences about the sessions. They expressed how the weekly activities and discussions helped students learn interesting facts about nature and inspired them to observe the environment more closely.
The program also featured a special guest speaker, Mr. Imran Ali Khan, who shared his experiences and work related to wildlife. He narrated fascinating stories about wild animals, which greatly interested the students and audience.
An engaging interview session was conducted by Mr. Kapil Joshi, Founder of the Greenleaf Foundation, where he interacted with Mr. Imran Ali Khan to learn more about his work and experiences in the field of wildlife and nature. The conversation was informative and inspiring for everyone present.

Farewell programme for the students of Std. IV was organized on Saturday 7th March-26 to celebrate their journey in the primary section and to wish them success for their future. The programme was conducted in a warm and joyful atmosphere.
The students of Std. IV delivered heartfelt speeches narrating their memorable journey in the primary section. They shared their experiences, cherished moments with their teachers and friends, and expressed gratitude for the love and guidance they received during their early years of schooling.
The Headmistress, Mrs. Manjusha Durve, addressed the gathering and guided the students with her inspiring words. She encouraged them to continue learning with curiosity, maintain good values, and confidently step into the next phase of their academic journey.
Some special awards such as “Star of the Class” were presented to the students in recognition of their efforts and achievements. The students were delighted and proud to receive the appreciation.
The guest speaker, Mr. Rajiv Tambe, made the programme lively and engaging. He narrated beautiful and meaningful stories in a very interesting way that the students thoroughly enjoyed. He also conducted fun activities and an interactive session, which made the event enjoyable and memorable for everyone.
The programme concluded with a delightful lunch arranged for the students and teachers, where they spent cheerful moments together and created lasting memories.
