Visit to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)
On 15th April 2025, our class had the privilege of visiting the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) at Shimla office Shivajinagar, Pune. The visit provided us with valuable insights into the working of the seismology department and showed us various instruments used in predicting weather patterns and issuing timely warnings for severe weather events.
During our visit, we were given a comprehensive tour of the IMD facilities. We observed the various instruments used for collecting weather data. The officials at IMD explained the process of data collection, analysis, and forecasting, highlighting the importance of accurate weather predictions for various sectors such as agriculture, aviation, and disaster management.
We also learned about the different types of weather forecasting models used by IMD, including numerical weather prediction (NWP) models. The officials shared examples of successful predictions made by IMD, which have helped in saving lives and minimizing damage to infrastructure.
We realized the significance of meteorology in our daily lives, from predicting weather patterns to issuing warnings for severe weather events. We were impressed by the advanced technology used by IMD for data collection and analysis. We also understood the critical role played by IMD in disaster management, providing timely warnings and alerts to help minimize damage and loss of life.
The visit to IMD was an enriching experience that provided us with a deeper understanding of the importance of meteorology and the role of IMD in predicting weather patterns. We appreciate the efforts of the IMD officials in sharing their knowledge and expertise with us. Prime Minister Narendra Modiji's Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 was a huge success, with over 5 crore participants nationwide, making it the most engaging and impactful edition to date. The event, held on February 10, 2025 from 11:00 , aimed at bringing together students, parents, teachers, and society to foster an environment where each child's unique individuality is celebrated and encouraged.
PM Modi interacted with 36 students selected from all states and union territories, discussing topics such as exam preparation, stress management, and personal growth.
Renowned personalities from diverse fields, including sports, mental health, nutrition, technology, and finance, shared their experiences and knowledge with lstudents.
The event was live on Doordarshan, Swayam, Swayam Prabha, PMO YouTube channel, and social media platforms, ensuring widespread reach and participation.
Discussions centered around emotional well-being, self-expression, and stress management. Healthy eating habits and the importance of quality sleep in academic success were given most importance.
The Pariksha Pe Charcha initiative has evolved into a nationwide movement, providing a platform for students, parents, and teachers to address the challenges of exam preparation and personal growth.
Students from science and commerce attended the event with enthusiasm and it will surely help in their strategy to face their next examination
Career Guidance Lecture
At MESHSS, we do not just teach our students to appear for XII board exam but we prepare them to understand their abilities and choose the most suitable career path for a bright and prosperous future. We have organised a career guidance lecture on 9th January 2025 at 3 pm for our students of XI Science. The lecture was conducted by DR. Ketaki Vaidya. She precisely guided our students regarding different entrance Exams their passing criteria and possible careers paths after the exams.
Students asked many questions followed by the lecture. In brief this was very helpful career guidance session, which will enable our students use the correct opportunity for a bright career.
Fun fair and mis-match day
On 23rd December,2024 Monday, we have arranged a Fun fair and mis-match day for all the students of Commerce and Science stream. Students have participated enthusiastically in preparing and decorating various food and fun stalls. Students also enjoyed delicious food items and other fun activities. Mehendi and tattoo stalls were also there. Overall, it was really a very refreshing experience for all the students and students also learnt business skills through their stalls.
The Fun Fair at BSMHSS
The Fun Fair organized at BSMHSS on the 23rd and 24th of December was a delightful event that brought joy, enthusiasm, and creativity to the students of XI and XII Science and Commerce. The fair was an excellent platform for students to showcase their culinary, cultural, and artistic skills through various activities.
Day 1: 23rd December
The first day of the fair was buzzing with excitement, featuring vibrant food stalls set up by the students. The stalls offered a variety of delicacies such as pani puri, bhel, sandwiches, vada pav, and samosa chaat, attracting both students and teachers alike. The initiative allowed students to demonstrate their entrepreneurial and teamwork skills while offering a taste of their creativity.
To add to the fun, the day was themed with Mismatch Day, Twin Day, and Black and White Day, encouraging students to express their uniqueness and camaraderie. The themed dress-up activities brought laughter and cheer, showcasing the students' creativity in blending mismatched outfits or twinning with friends.
Day 2: 24th December
The second day of the fair was dedicated to tradition and talent. Students celebrated Traditional Day by donning elegant ethnic attire, reflecting the rich diversity of culture and heritage. The highlight of the day was a Fashion Show, where students walked the ramp with confidence, exhibiting their style and cultural pride.
Another engaging activity was Antakshari, a musical competition that witnessed enthusiastic participation. Students sang melodious songs, competing in a friendly atmosphere that resonated with joy and energy.
The two-day event provided a refreshing break from routine academics while encouraging students to explore their talents and bond with their peers. The cultural committee deserves applause for their efforts in making the event memorable.
Field Visit to Parag Foods Pvt. Ltd. - Gowardhan Go Cheese Manufacturing Plant
On 20th December, a field visit was conducted to the Parag Foods Pvt. Ltd. manufacturing plant, renowned for its dairy brand "Gowardhan Go Cheese" located at Manchar. The plant is known for its state-of-the-art technology and touchless processing methods. The visit aimed to understand the manufacturing process of various dairy products, including milk, cheese, paneer, curd, ghee, butter, and whey protein.
The plant operates under the esteemed milk brand "Pride of Cows," which emphasizes a completely touchless process for milk collection and handling. This ensures the highest standards of hygiene and quality from start to finish.
Milk is sourced from select farms and transported to the plant under controlled conditions to preserve its freshness.
The plant employs automated systems for testing milk quality, including checks for fat content, bacterial count, and adulterants.
Milk undergoes pasteurization and homogenization before further processing.
The plant specializes in the production of various types of cheese under the "Go Cheese" brand.
Milk is curdled using natural enzymes, and the curds are separated, molded, and aged under controlled conditions.
Products include mozzarella, cheddar, and processed cheese, catering to both domestic and international markets.
Technological Innovations
The plant utilizes advanced automation technology to ensure minimal human intervention, adhering to strict hygiene protocols. The "Pride of Cows" brand highlights the touchless process, which includes:
Automated milking systems at farms.
Sterile transport mechanisms for raw milk.
Robotic equipment for production and packaging.
The plant is certified by various national and international food safety organizationns.
The visit provided an insightful understanding of the operations at a dairy industry and gave students an idea of scope of career opportunities in the field. The integration of modern technology and traditional dairy practices ensures the production of high-quality products under the Gowardhan and "Pride of Cows" brands.
This visit was informative as well as enjoyable. The cheese tasting after the plant visit was enjoyed by students and a surprise gift by Gowardhan made their field trip a day to remember.
