When art embraces culture…
Innovation has been one of our core values at Bal Shikshan Mandir English Medium School. We strive to motivate our children to perform well and excel in their chosen areas. We believe in value education and collaborative thinking. Our festivals are a passageway to the most profound aspects of life. They bring joy, peace and an opportunity to pay respect to God. To instill cultural values among our students, our visionary Principal Mrs. Geetanjali Bodhankar with drawing teachers had organised Mehendi and Tattoo competition on the eve of the auspicious occasion of naagpanchami on 24th July, 2020.
Shravan month is synonymous with festivals and holy events. A user from India says the name Shravan is of Indian (Sanskrit) origin and means “God”. According to a user from Florida, U.S., the name Shravan is of American origin and means “God”. A submission from India says the name Shravan means “God”. Shravan is a good time to meditate, fast and dedicate ourselves to various rituals and God.
This year amid covid19 pandemic, the celebrations are of a different kind. BSM students are unlocking, unleashing their creativity virtually as we believe in learning beyond the four walls… In this academic year 2020-2021, after enthusiastic celebrations of Kalidas Din, Aashadhhi Ekadashi, Gurupournima, Naagpanchami was another holy and vibrant occasion to celebrate virtually. 1100 students ( Std.V to XII) of BSM participated wholeheartedly in this competition.
The positive spirits and energy to showcase the talent was felt through their beautiful explorations. Innovative, thematic tattoos and predecided types of mehendi added vibrant colours to the auspicious occasion of Naagpanchami.
The overall results are:
