Face to Face with Scientists

“Tell me and I forget; teach me and I remember; involve me and I learn.” We, at BSM have been following this principle and arranging workshops for the children to learn more about science. ‘Face to face with Scientists’ sessions are conducted often to restore, reframe and reinforce the concept of science. And the process of learning science continued even in pandemic with all the necessary precautions. As this year has been declared the Year of Quantum Relationship, a quantum approach towards Science needs to be developed through different activities.

Mr. Ankur Patwardhan, Head of the Department of Biodiversity, MES Abasaheb Garware College, Pune was the key note speaker of the programme on 10th February 2021. His in-depth knowledge of environment and the study of butterflies created a keen interest among the students of Std. IX and X.

The programme was not a formal delivery of lecture but an interesting exchange of thoughts in question-answer form. Students curiously asked him questions and they were happy to know more on variety of butterflies in the environment.

This rendezvous was an opportunity for children to learn how to take care of the flora and fauna around us. The programme had been organized under the outstanding leadership of Principal Mrs. Geetanjali Bodhankar and it was concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
